Installation Instructions - T3x nEXTgen Short Action AICS Bottom Metal

Installing the T3x nEXTgen Short Action AICS Bottom Metal

Our Short Action AICS Magazine Bottom Metal is designed for Tikka stocks inletted for the factory T3x (non-CTR) bottom metal. Please note, that some minor modification of the factory stock and some aftermarket stocks will be necessary for our bottom metal to fit. No external changes to the stock are necessary, but you will need to widen the interior of the stock to accommodate the wider AICS magazines.

Please ensure/confirm that your rifle is unloaded and that the safety is in the SAFE position before proceeding with installation.

STEP 1:  Loosen the actions screws and remove the factory trigger guard.

STEP 2:  Place your new RedSnake T3x nEXTgen Short AICS Bottom Metal in the stock so that that the action screw holes line up with the holes in the stock. Using a Sharpie (or tape), mark the front and rear positions of the magazine well as a reference for where the interior of the stock will need to be modified/widened.

STEP 3:  Use a 3/4" flat file, rotary tool such as Dremel, or an end mill to incrementally remove stock material from the interior of both sides of the stock to allow the bottom metal to fit within the stock inlet.  It is also necessary to remove the two ridges to allow the AICS magazine to fully insert.

💡TIP: Place electrical tape over the edges of the bottom side of your stock to prevent scratches

STEP 4:  Confirm the fit of your new bottom metal, and tighten the action screws to approximately 45-50 in-lb.

NOTE: Some aftermarket stocks may require adjusting (shortening) the length of the magazine release lever to ensure proper magazine engagement and feeding of rounds from the magazine.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your firearm is assembled properly and functions safely. If you have any questions about the installation of your nEXTgen AICS Bottom Metal or any other aspect of your rifle, we recommend having your rifle inspected by a qualified gunsmith to prevent damage to your rifle or harm/injury to yourself or others.
